But I think I may have left some WD40 in the little magnetic cup thing. That may be causing it to act like a viscous coupling and adding drag as after strapping GPS to the tach, it is pretty close at lower speeds but gets progressively further out as the speeds go up. I may try to snake a small tube into the unit from the back to try to use compressed air to clean the magnet out before I end up taking the bezel off again.
Otherwise, the needle is moving very smoothly and the odometer is about right.

The WD-40 should evaporate after a fashion leaving a thin coating of graphite. That's what my father believed when he was locksmithing. The air wouldn't hurt, I have a can of compressed air that was supposed to be used to power an air brush.
That's kinda what I'm hoping. I'll probably blow it out as best I can because I don't need it to gum up before it dries, though.
I think the choke activation mechanism is about shot. After the screwup this afternoon, I was very careful not to pull it out too far and I think it still skipped a tooth. I've got to look at it a little deeper to see if something can be adjusted.
